art day
Sometimes we take a day in the city. On this day, I have a ticket to the deYoung Post Impressionist show featuring VanGogh and friends. Scott runs around the de Young grounds with the little guy while I take in the show (Scott had already seen it) It is amazing how contemporary VanGogh’s work looks. The images leap out with personality and aliveness, these many years later. Vincent was really channeling the divine. After this incredible show, we go to the MOMA Artists’ Gallery in Fort Mason to see our friend Kathryn St. Clair’s paintings and attend the art opening. Lukas and I skip to the gallery in the fog ahead of Scott and race around the gallery all evening, looking at all the art, not just Kathryn’s beautiful work, dancing to the fun live music, talking with lots of people (for very short durations) and ending up in many of the gallery’s photos of the evening…
