first snow

We don’t get snow here, but the other day, I looked up at the mountain, and there it was, snow! So of course we went up there for the little guy to experience his first snow. He had to eat it of course and touch it and he really, really liked it! We are supposed to have a cold snap later this week so maybe there will be more. These cold days remind me that it’s the slow introspective time of year. We were a little spoiled with our false Spring and all the sun, and now we are back to cold and rain (and a tiny bit of snow). The knitting will re-emerge from my basket, more books will be read, soups will be made, we’ll do more indoor work and garden planning will once again take precedence over garden planting (which I had sort-of started already!) And, of course there will be some outdoor time as well, especially if there is snow!
