fire season

a little after dinner art and music with big brother

In wintertime, the element of fire is easily incorporated into daily life. More so in the old days, but even now just candlelight at dinner each can provide a chance to connect with this powerful element. Lukas is a fire sign so he really loves fire!

In Spring, we can play with wind, using ribbons, kites, and anything that trails and flies. In Summer, of course, water play is called for and in Fall, the earth element predominates during the harvest time as plants are pulled up, root vegetables dug and winter crops sown.

But now is the time of fire and warmth. Kids these days don’t always have a chance to connect with fire. Winter is the ideal time to have outdoor fires for special occasions (or anytime) and indoor candles every night. Even a two year old can enjoy and then blow out a candle after dinner!
