The autumn garden is my favorite. It is a little sleepy, relaxing from the fun and exuberance of summer. Delicate petals are falling off the crepe myrtles in the front garden, creating a pink carpet for passersby. Raindrops moisten all the plants, sparkling when the sun appears for a few moments. The light is crystalline, bestowing everything with a clear beauty, even while decay begins, leaves wither and the last foods of summer ripen. Such drama, this change of season.
