about our family

Scott and I started out as a couple of artists, he a photographer and I a web designer and writer. We worked erratic hours, we took trips, we went out at night, we ate when we felt like it. When we had a baby, it quickly became apparent that I was moving in the direction of stay-at-home mother and that we were going to need to live much more scheduled lives. I closed my business and began to focus on the home and on helping Scott with his photography business. While I loved being a web designer, I do not miss it. I am very much enjoying being a new kind of designer, the designer of our home life and the designer of an environment that our little guy can grow up in and reach whatever potential he aspires to. Scott is going stronger than ever with his photography and is the often unnamed author of many of the photos you see here. His photo blog is here.

As the mother of a toddler, many things surprise and delight me along the way. Many things are very challenging too… This is a chronicle of discoveries, as we journey along the path we have chosen and question what it takes to guide a new soul through the options of life.

“…the designer of our home life and the designer of an environment that our little guy can grow up in and reach whatever potential he aspires to” — I love this! Your little guy is lucky!
